I seem to be able to beat cravings, but I still cannot deal with stress and anxiety without eating!! I am so stressed out today because I am awaiting a phone call about the possible job and also waiting to find out about school...and I ate 2 bowls of Fritos. I feel as though all my hard work is out the window, guilt is such a bad feeling. I need some coping mechanisms or something. Instead of going for more I thought I would write this post instead...

  1. Chew some gum! When I feel sort of tense and don't know what to do, I break out the sugar-free Bubble Yum. Chomp, chomp, chomp! It ain't pretty, but it ain't eating either!

    I even blow big bubbles...and I can chew gum while using my computer (which I can't do if I'm eating).

    Hope you get the news you're hoping for!!!

    PS All is not lost in some Fritos...have you eaten 3500 calories of them? Even if you have, it only adds up to one measly pound!

  2. Great Perspective on the Debbie! Lauren, you can get through it just like you told me. Waiting SUCKS, I know... I have been waiting for almost 5 months for this job!! :)

  3. I think it's great that you know you need to deal with that. I think a lot of people ignore the emotional aspect of it. When I'm feeling anxious or upset I just try to sit with the feeling and actually feel it instead of trying to stuff it down with food.

    I know it can be really hard... but one of the many great things about blogging is the community. There are a ton of people out there who will support you and understand exactly where you're coming from. Good luck! You've done amazing so far!


  4. It's okay, it's over and now you just need to focus on the rest of today! Besides, there is no way you gained back everything and if you make really good choices the rest of the week, it'll be like it never happened!!!

    I refuse to let myself have those things in the house. All I have are 100-calorie bags of popcorn and pretzels. And I actually don't carry cash on me, so I have to use a credit card in order to buy munchies at the store.

    You could also try reading some other blogs when you're stressed or having a craving. I find they always inspire me more than anything!

    At least you're admitting it, sometimes I do that and I'm too scared to blog about it!

  5. Good Luck with the job and school:) Maybe you could go for a walk or do some cleaning. I always work on my lastest sewing project. Anything to keep you busy, however TV doesnt work for me, it makes me want to eat even more.
